What's in This Policy
1. Introduction
Welcome to the Immediate Edge UK privacy policy. We take your data seriously — not in the rehearsed, legal-speak sense, but in the actual "we'd want this treated properly if it were ours" sense. This document explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have as a user of the Immediate Edge platform.
We operate under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. For the purposes of this policy, the data controller is Immediate Edge UK. If you want to know anything we haven't covered here, the DPO's email is listed at the end — use it.
2. What Information We Collect
We try to collect only what's necessary to run the service. Here's what that looks like in practice:
Information you give us directly
- Your full name and email address (at sign-up)
- A contact phone number (so our broker partners can verify you)
- Country and general location (to tailor the experience for UK users)
- Information you choose to send us via email or support forms
Information collected automatically
- Your IP address and approximate location
- Device type, operating system, and browser
- Pages viewed on our site and interaction patterns (for improving UX)
- Basic session cookies for keeping you logged in
Information from third parties
- KYC verification data from our partnered brokers (but we don't store sensitive document copies ourselves — the broker handles that)
- Aggregated performance data from the broker, so you can see it inside the Immediate Edge app dashboard
3. How We Use Your Information
Plainly put, we use your data to:
- Create and manage your account on the Immediate Edge official website
- Connect you with our partnered broker for live trading
- Send important service updates (outages, security notices, policy changes)
- Respond to your support queries and feedback
- Improve the platform based on anonymised usage patterns
- Meet our legal obligations (anti-fraud, anti-money-laundering checks via brokers)
- Occasionally send marketing emails — but only if you've opted in, and you can unsubscribe any time
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we need a lawful basis for every type of processing. Here are ours:
- Contract: Processing necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests: Improving the platform, preventing fraud, keeping things secure — balanced against your rights.
- Consent: For optional marketing emails and non-essential cookies.
- Legal obligation: Where we're required by UK law to hold or share information (tax, financial regulation, etc.).
5. Who We Share Your Data With
We don't sell your data. Full stop. We do, however, share it with a small number of trusted third parties where it's necessary to run the service:
- Our partnered brokers, who handle live trading accounts and the actual movement of money
- Cloud hosting providers who run the infrastructure behind the Immediate Edge app
- Email service providers for transactional messages and opt-in newsletters
- Analytics tools (privacy-respecting ones, not invasive trackers) to understand how the site is used
- Legal authorities, if we're legally compelled — but only to the extent required
All our third-party processors are contractually bound to handle your data at least as carefully as we do.
6. Cookies & Tracking
Like most modern websites, we use cookies. Specifically:
- Essential cookies — for login sessions and security. Can't be turned off because the site literally won't work without them.
- Analytics cookies — to understand how visitors use the site. These are optional and you can decline them.
- Preference cookies — remembering your settings between visits.
Our cookie banner lets you manage these preferences the first time you visit. You can also clear cookies any time via your browser settings.
7. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers using standard encryption at rest and in transit. The Immediate Edge official website runs over HTTPS with SSL/TLS encryption — the same basic standard used by online banking. We restrict access to your data strictly to team members who need it for their role.
We're not going to pretend no company is ever breached — that would be naive. What we will say is that we take reasonable, proportionate measures, and we'd notify you promptly if anything affecting your data ever happened. Transparency over spin.
8. How Long We Keep Your Data
We only keep your information as long as we need it for the purposes it was collected, or as long as we're legally required to. Broadly:
- Active account data: for as long as your account is open
- Closed account data: retained for up to 6 years for legal and accounting purposes, then securely deleted
- Marketing consent records: until you withdraw consent, plus a short record for compliance
- Support emails: typically 2 years, then purged
9. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You have quite a few rights when it comes to your personal data, and we want to make them easy to use:
- Right of access: Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: Correct anything that's inaccurate.
- Right to erasure: Ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Right to restrict processing: Ask us to pause certain types of processing.
- Right to data portability: Get your data in a portable format.
- Right to object: Opt out of certain processing, including marketing.
- Right to withdraw consent: Any time, for any consent-based processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email legal@immediatee-edge.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
10. Children's Data
The Immediate Edge platform is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we've inadvertently collected data from a minor, let us know at once and we'll delete it immediately.
11. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers operate outside the UK. Where that's the case, we make sure transfers are covered by UK GDPR-compliant safeguards — typically Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions recognised by the UK ICO.
12. Policy Updates
We update this policy from time to time — usually to reflect new features, new processors, or changes in UK data protection law. When we make significant changes, we'll email registered users and post a notice on the Immediate Edge official website. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always shows the most recent revision.
13. Contact the DPO
Questions, complaints, data requests — all of it goes to our Data Protection Officer at legal@immediatee-edge.com. We aim to reply within 72 hours, and for formal GDPR requests within the 30-day statutory window.
For general support queries that aren't about data protection, please use our contact page instead.
